A&C rockers Zeus headlined their largest hometown performance to date last night at the Mod Club, effortlessly charming a packed house with a finely tuned rock and roll show. Their epic live performances are the product of the quartet’s longstanding musical history with one another, having played as Jason Collett‘s backing band for years alongside Afie Jurvanen (Bahamas).
I headed to the Mod Club early to catch opening sets from Danielle Duval and Matt Murphy, both of whom were accompanied by a full band setup. You may recognize Murphy from his role in the faux-documentary The Life and Hard Times of Guy Terrifico alongside Kris Kristofferson, or from his past bands The Super Friendz or The Flashing Lights. He’s a musician first and foremost, and he proved that last night with a blistering set that got the crowd hyped up for Zeus’ headlining set.
